Some things that make us unique.

FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED

In this region which is dominated by huge chains and multinational conglomerates, we proudly remain independent. The Horan & McConaty families and our staff believe that we are accountable to you, not far-away stockholders. We are kind, gentle, and knowledgeable men and women who respect your right to choose without undue influence and believe the most valuable thing we own is our reputation. Every staff associate is expected and empowered to do anything it takes to serve your family well.

PERSONALIZED SERVICES

Our staff is specially selected and trained to facilitate services that reflect your needs. Our goal is to listen, suggest, organize, and carry out ceremonies that will be comforting and full of meaning.

OPTIONS

We provide more options than any other firm because we serve a varied clientele who expect to be able to make choices. We package these simply to make it easy for you to choose.

PRICE AND VALUE

Colorado is the only state that does not license funeral directors, embalmers, or cremationists. We understand that we get only one chance to perform our work sensitively and correctly, and for over 100 years we have voluntarily adhered to high standards. There are other funeral homes that proclaim low prices but cut corners with staff, facilities, and procedures. We attract and retain the best staff possible - our people provide consistently outstanding care to those we serve. Our facilities are new or recently renovated and are easily the best in the metro area. Every family we serve receives a follow-up survey and we are proud of our 99.5% retention and approval rate. These responses confirm the importance of giving people quality and value for what they spend.

BEFORE AND AFTER THE FUNERAL

We provide free assistance with pre-planning. You also have the option of locking in today's prices and funding your plan or simply placing your wishes on file and allowing the costs to be paid at the time of need. Furthermore, we are the area's only firm to offer full-time bereavement support. At the funeral arrangements we provide a customized package of helpful materials on the grief process. Our Bereavement Support Coordinator provides assistance to people in need as well as information about support groups, books, videos, and other materials designed to assist children, adolescents, and adults. There are no charges for any of these services.

OUR GUARANTEE TO YOU

Our fair prices represent the greatest value in the area. Our staff is kind, considerate and knowledgeable. Our facilities are modern and immaculate. If you are dissatisfied with any of our professional services or facilities, we will reduce or eliminate that charge.

Choose competence. Choose people who care. Choose the best value for what you spend. You will never regret choosing quality.

Discounts, Financial Hardships, and Value...

We encourage you to speak openly about any financial hardship you are experiencing. We take pride in serving all who call our firm - including those with financial difficulties. We work closely with county departments of social services, victim's and worker's compensation departments, and other potential sources of funding. We can make suggestions to keep your costs low. Still, we understand that there are those who need a payment plan or a cost reduction in order for their needs to be met, and we are here to help. No one has ever been turned away for a lack of money.

Regardless of what you spend, our superior service quality is the same for all.

 After the Funeral

Mental health experts agree that our society today does a generally poor job in addressing the needs of people who grieve. People sometimes seem to forget that the death of someone loved can be one of life's most traumatic experiences. At Shalom Funeral Service, we respond by offering support beyond the time of the funeral.

As the area's only firm to offer full-time bereavement support, we will assist those who selected Shalom for the service as well as those who did not. We will provide you with a customized package of educational and inspirational materials. We also maintain one of the area's leading bereavement resource centers. Our Bereavement Support Coordinator provides direct assistance to people in need as well as information about support groups, books, videos, pamphlets, and other materials designed to assist children, adolescents, and adults. There are no charges for any of these services.

 Our Commitment To You

Over 100 years ago my family began serving Denver-area families. For 5 generations we have focused on providing quality and value, knowing that the best way to stay in business in the future is to take extraordinary care of the people we are serving today. It's a simple philosophy that has served us well. As one of the few family owned and operated funeral service firms remaining in the community, we know that the most valuable thing we possess cannot be seen or touched - it is your goodwill toward our firm.

We encourage people to visit our modern facilities, meet our staff, and compare. Our Taharah and Shomer facilities have been inspected and have received Rabbinical Approval. Located at 1091 So. Colorado Boulevard, this facility is kept scrupulously Kosher and was designed with the assistance of local Rabbis, the Chevrah Kaddisha, and Shomers.

We offer a full range of options to the Jewish families we are privileged to serve. While we believe that our charges are significantly less expensive than others who are serving the Jewish community, we think we offer the ideal combination of economy and quality.

Please don't hesitate to contact us for further information.
