August 16, 1936 — April 23, 2026

Ethel Soifer Plotkin, age 89, passed away on April 23, 2026, in San Tan Valley, Arizona.

Born on 08/16/1936 in the Bronx, New York, Ethel lived a life centered on love of family, faith, and lifelong learning. On June 23, 1957, she married Marvin Plotkin, and together they shared a devoted marriage that spanned decades.

Ethel worked as a secretary in New York before she and Marvin moved to Colorado, where they became business owners. Their move was guided by a desire to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren, reflecting what mattered most to her: family.

She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Leaf (Nate), Diane Cox (Howie), and Sheri Fracasse (Bob); her grandchildren, Susan Chittom (Brandon), Joe Augliera (Kiara), Bryan Eder (Shavonne), Michelle Augliera, Eddie Leaf, and Rebecca Brown (Kyle); and her great-grandchildren, Sarah Chittom, Elsie Eder, and soon-to-be-born Nolan Brown. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Plotkin; her parents, Morris and Rose Soifer; and her brother, Hy Soifer.

Ethel was devoted to her faith and continued her studies throughout her life, always seeking understanding and growth. She found joy in painting, learning, teaching, and especially in spending time with family and friends. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those she loved.

Ethel will be remembered for her deep love of family, her steady faith, and her lifelong curiosity.
