Nathan Oderberg

Nathan “Nate” Oderberg passed away at Swedish Hospital in Denver, Colorado on April 13th, 2026. 

Nate was born in a refugee camp in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on October 6th, 1945. 

He immigrated with his parents and brother to Denver’s west side in 1950. Nate graduated from Cheltenham Elementary, Lake Junior High, and Denver North High School. After high school Nate traveled with his mother to visit family in Israel. He attended the University of Colorado and served in the United States Army, during which he was stationed in Goppingen, Germany. After his service Nate returned to Denver, met and married his wife Bonnee in 1974, and raised three sons. 

Nate worked as a salesperson in the textile industry before starting his own business, Acme Tent and Canvas. He continued to serve clients and find purpose in his work until his passing.

Nate is remembered as a kind man with a compassionate heart. He was deeply devoted to his family and employees and took pleasure in their milestones and successes. One of his ambitions was to start a non-profit to help train students and craftspersons to succeed in his industry.

Nate is survived by his wife Bonnee, sons Adam and Eli (Katie), sister Mary Heimann (Dick), niece Illisa Polis (Eric), and grandchildren Joseph, Everlee, and William. 

He is predeceased by his father Mel, mothers Dora and Hania, brother Marvin, niece Nicole Sacks (Robert) and son Gabriel.
