We are saddened to share with you the passing of Victor King on September 2, 2026 at the age of 100.

Victor King (originally Viktor Koenigsberg) was born in Uzhhorod, Chechoslovakia, May 26, 1926. He is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey (Vickianne) King and Michael (Lyn) King, three grandchildren; Brooke, Alexander and Samuel. He is also survived by his three great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Laura King Farrand, who passed away from Lupus on Dec 26, 2004 at the age of 44, and his wife, Elaine Hoffman, who died in 2010. Victor is also mourned by his partner of the last 13 years, Margaret Ann Hill.

Along with his parents, his brother, Alex, and sister, Klara, Victor was deported to Auschwitz in May 1944, where his parents were murdered and his brother died in a mine shortly thereafter. While Victor and his sister survived in Europe, his two other brothers, Zvi and Ushku, managed to emigrate to Palestine in the late 1930s. Victor survived slave labor in and around Munich before being liberated from Dachau at the end of the war. He emigrated to the United States in 1947, traveling on the Gripsholm Liner, where he settled in Milwaukee, WI. It was there he met and married his wife, Elaine, and his three children were born. The family moved to Southglenn, Colorado in 1970 where Victor worked as a plant manager and eventually rose to VP of Sales and Customer Service for Serta of Denver, a position from which he retired in 1994.

Victor was an exceptional and well-known card player, excelling at both pinochle and bridge. He belonged to the Jewish Veterans and Freemasons.

During the Korean War, Victor served in the US Army from 1951-1953 (stationed in Europe) and will be buried as a US Veteran at Fort Logan National Cemetery on September 23, 2026.
